Strategy Analyst - Customer Engagement
“I chose Capital One because I already had a friend who worked here, and they really enjoyed it. I was also impressed with how welcoming and nice the company was during my application process.
I studied electronic engineering at university, but after a few engineering placements, I decided I wanted to do something different. With Capital One, I could still use my analytical, maths and problem-solving skills so it was the perfect fit. I did the internship in the summer of 2019 and was so happy when I received my offer to come back as a grad.
I work in the Customer Engagement team on initiatives to make sure Capital One is customers "first in wallet" card. A typical day would include building valuations for new ideas - pulling data and creating credit decisions to share with senior stakeholders so we can understand where to invest our time and resources. In addition, I’m often also involved with lots of stakeholders internally and externally to co-ordinate our work, for example partnering with design on creative communications, with tech on app features, and data analysts on projects.
It was rewarding recently to see the hard work from so many different parts of the business come together when we launched a complicated, time-sensitive project that had been impacted by shifting dates around lockdown.
I love the work I am doing and there are lots of different roles and opportunities to join other teams and parts of the business to come."
